EASTER "GIVE AWAY"

 
I made these for some friends for their birthdays this week. They are tea towels with their initials appliqued on them. HOUDINI'S MAMA AND HER BABY

If you're a regular reader you know about Houdini--the horse that could swim under fences, open gates and mysteriously go wherever he wanted to go. We've never called his mother by her name; she's always been "Houdini's Mama".  She's been looking like she was going to pop for about two weeks.  Today she did!!

 

 Oh, and she's a girl!  Houdini, wherever you are--you have a sister!!
 

WHEN BOYS BECOME FRIENDS

Our afternoon activity includes taking Sadie for a ride in Papa's truck. She loves to let her hair blow and look for animals.  Yesterday we ran into Graham and Ryan as they were getting the tractor ready to work today. Graham has decided that he wants to help Ryan on the farm. They've been hanging out some together which has made his mother happy since brothers usually fight a lot. They are all good boys and it's fun to have them become young men and actually engage in conversation with them.  We talked about turkey hunting and "stuff" and I loved watching their faces.

 I took several shots trying to get Graham laughing but every time I would shoot his eyes would close or he would look away. He said he didn't realize he was doing it. We enjoyed these few minutes of "being friends" with our grandsons--something many folks don't get to do!
 
 

OH, HAPPY DAY!

A huge 18 wheeler pulled into our driveway today and dropped off seven (7) big pallets of white shrink wrapped "stuff"!!  I've been waiting on it for two months.  Looks pretty strange doesn't it?

 

 
I knew what it looked like, but Ed and Ryan were anxious to get a peek. "Let's just open one, Nana." And you know where that led! We spent the next hour or so opening and unloading all the wonderful new, colorful POOL AND PATIO FURNITURE!! 

 
Those chairs go in the circle by the baby pool. They are really comfortable.

The tables are all aqua and the chairs are pink, lavender, blue and aqua. The guys decided we should have one chair of each color at each table. Ok by me. They are cafe height meaning they are a little higher than a regular table but lower than bar height.

 

The new umbrellas are a combination of all the colors and look really good with the tables and chairs.  We've waited a long time to get the new furniture. I could never find exactly what I wanted but when I saw this, it felt "right". The cushions for the top of the deck will be the same fabric as the umbrellas.  It's going to be a fun summer.

And this furniture is so heavy--it won't be blowing into the pasture like the old furniture!! 

SISSY HAD THE THIRD ONE! And #4 was a girl!!

Sadie and I went for a ride today on the Ranger.  Ryan had called this morning to say we had another baby. I wanted to see it. The Ranger never goes anywhere without Sadie in it!! She loves to "let her hair blow in the wind"!  

 

 

 

 

 

 

This one belongs to Sissy-Ed's mare. He's our third stud colt of the season and is growing very nicely.

This little filly is the first "girl" to make it to the farm this year. She's a pretty baby and we all think "Houdini's Mama" aka Magic is going to be next. Stay tuned!

"Going on the record"--While I was gone we lost a baby. Jennifer and Shelly think it was Bucky. But I don't think so. We'll see!

 

 

 

 

  

 

A NEW KIND OF WAKE UP!!

We were almost asleep--right into that first dozing off when this loud noise started pounding our house.  I thought we were being attacked. I got out of bed and went to the front door. The sidewalk was covered with hail and lots more was coming. I got Ed up to come and see and this is what we saw on the deck. 
Hail, a little larger than marbles was falling FAST!! Sounded like I don't know what falling all over us.

 

 

 

 

 

It's been a strange winter and now this!!  What else is in store??

THE VIEW FROM MY PERSPECTIVE!!

The Franklin County Bicentennial Celebration was this past weekend. I got to do the Fun Run/Walk and see the parade and listen to some of the music.  This was what I saw of the race!!  And I did not finish last. It wasn't a timed race; it was done just for fun.  We laughed and walked and had a good time.

The parade took forever [can you believe a parade in Meadville took forever???]! This is my sweet friend Mary Bryan riding with my other sweet friend Jimmy in his favorite car!!

I stayed and heard the CoLin Stage Band and High Road! Couldn't miss my girls.  They played again at 6:00 but didn't get to go back and hear that. I'll soon have to have another "private concert" cause they have a new CD coming out!!  Stay tuned for that.

I hope to post my pictures to an album but if you are impatient and can't wait check out the Facebook walls of Mandy Wilson, Pat Jones, Cookie Stroud and of course mine.  We all have Bicentennial Albums on there.
