Initially this post was going to be about the awesome choir practice we had at the Nursing Home on Sunday. I waited to do it because I was tired. Now three days later, I'm even more tired and the post has more about it than just the choir practice. How we got there is a story (which lost some of it importance in the long run) but just the fact that we went is the best part. Someone had told them that we were not coming. I went around "collecting" residents to come listen. After all, it was for them that we went. I wanted them to share this beautiful music. We got them all settled--I even passed out candy canes--and practice began. We went straight through the cantata and it sounded good. Then we worked on some rough spots and made plans for the next practice. My Mom is in the Nursing Home--See why I wanted to have practice there? I wanted her to hear our music. She hasn't been able to get out and move around much in the last few months. She can't see as well as she used to. Kind of like--if Mohammed can't come to the mountain, take the mountain to Mohammed! :) She laughed, talked, listened and visited with all the choir. She had twinkles in her eyes that I haven't seen in a while. She had a GREAT DAY. After practice I carried her to her room and told her supper was coming and I would go. I straightened her room, gathered her dirty clothes (always a joke with us) and told her that if I didn't see her on Monday, I'd see her on Tuesday. I then hugged her, kissed her and told her I loved her and said "see ya' " As I walked to the door she said, "See you". The next time I "see" my Mom will be in heaven. At 2:30 AM Monday morning the Nursing Home called to say my mom had been lifted by the angels in her sleep. How wonderfully merciful is our God. The whole in my body will never be filled but my heart is full. There's not enough space to tell you all about my precious Mom. My heart sings because she is walking and she can see right at this moment. Thank you Lord, for giving her that gift.
