The animals were fed and I decided to walk around to look at the garden. What a surprise I found. I had Exal (thanks be to Ed) clean out my vegetable beds so I could plant my fall garden. Doesn't it look nice? I have two of them. To my delight this morning I found THIS!
(Thanks be to Ed and Exal) my vegetable boxes are all planted and look great. We now have cabbage, broccoli, collards, rutabaga, lettuce, and cherry tomatoes that hopefully will be producing for the fall. He even left the GLORIOUS eggplant which is still coming on strong. I watered them well and will wait patiently :) for some results.
I saw evidence that the deer had been eating the pears and persimmons.
The pears are wonderful but the persimmons aren't ripe yet. I guess the deer don't know that.
Ed is waiting for the grapefruit to ripen. Last year Katrina cleaned the trees. This year we have 8 or 10 on the tree and he can't wait. They are pink on the inside and really sweet. The key lime has 9 limes on it. I am excited about that. They usually start up and fall off. I see a key lime pie in my future! :)
The lantana is outdoing itself this year. I guess because it loves DRY! The butterflies love lantana! That's why I LOVE LANTANA!
Now I love animals but NOT ALL animals--especially this kind! Ben and Graham said that was a Tiger Spider. I guess because it was yellow and black. I still don't like it.
Not all of our animals are real. Our farm is void of frogs--real ones--except for the green tree frogs. We don't know what happened to them. This one is a constant--only his clothes change. Then there's MAGIC who follows us around like a lap dog. He went with me on my Saturday morning garden walk. He's lying in wait on SMOKY who wasn't far behind.
What a beautiful morning--THANKS BE TO GOD!
