the wedding!! and the reception!! Ed's niece is getting married two weeks from today and the reception is here at Cotton Branch. That means clean up, spruce up at the old farm. I've enlisted everyone I can catch up with to help. Ed's been "tractoring" and clipping the pastures and roadsides and fences. They are looking great. The landscape crew came in and redid some beds and pots. With this rain they will be pretty in two weeks.
Amy is using fall colors with burgandy and we're planting to follow that theme. You may have noticed the "snake" in the pot! The peacocks love to dig in fresh planted pots! Hopefully this will discourage them--and we WILL take them out before the reception--if we don't forget!:)
My friend Bess made beautiful wreaths to go on the front and side doors. Cookie and I like the symbolism of the double rings.
Even the topiaries at the side door got a makeover. I did those and I like them.
The pool beds got a spruce up and a new fall flag hangs over the pool house. Cookie has been working hard getting other things ready and I know it's going to be a beautiful day. We're hoping the rain is coming this weekend so that it doesn't come the first weekend in October!
